Al Roloff, Natural Resource Manager with DeKalb County Forest Preserve District will lead a Wildflower Walk at MacQueen Forest Preserve, 3640 Scout Rd., Kirkland, ( about 2 miles NW of Kirkland) on Thursday, June 3rd at 6:00 pm. MacQueen is primarily an upland oak / hickory forest with a rich understory of forbs , grasses and sedges.
MacQueen is known for it's diverse population of spring ephemerals and robust populations of wild geraniums, shooting stars, red trilliums, early meadow rue, and woodland sedges. Hiking will be easy to moderate.
